Year Book Printing
It’s nearing the end of the school year, and that means it is time for year book printing. Year book printing is one of the most important events for a school, and a botched set of prints is a costly mistake for both student satisfaction and the school’s budget. To ensure that both remain happy, consider the following aspects of year book printing before making an informed decision.
Cover Options
The year book’s cover is the first thing a student sees and touches, so it should match the school perfectly. Dobson knows that no two schools are alike, so we offer several different covers to choose from, varying in thickness, texture, and printing options. Each cover has its own unique flair that will help the year book stand out.
High Print Number
A constant among year book printing is that most schools require a high number of prints, and Dobson can create as many prints as you need. The more prints you get, the less each year book costs, so get as many as possible to maximize savings. If the year books are for a smaller school with just a few hundred students, then Dobson’s can satisfy this need as well with a short print run.
Paper Types
Most year book printing is done with glossy paper that feels smooth and looks very glossy. While this is the standard, Dobson offers several different paper types, so the year book printing is specially made for the school ordering the year books. Matte is another popular option, which is much smoother than gloss, and it does not have a glare when held up to a light.
Different File Types
While PDF is the preferred printing format, Dobson is able to accept several different file types for the year book printing design. Since most graphic design software is able to save PDF files, these are usually best, but if your program is unable, consider speaking with a print manager to see what file types are acceptable.
