Page Numbers

Along with the number of prints, many print companies will only print a certain amount of pages per book. As long as the book can be properly bound, Dobson’s does not set a limit on the number of pages that are included in short run books. This allows customers to focus on the quality of writing in the book, rather than worrying about whether the book satisfies an arbitrary page count.

 

Color or Black-and-White

Short run books are usually printed in black-and-white, but some or all of the pages may have colorful images that would look dismal if not printed in color. Dobson’s is able to transition between the two, so there can be several pages of color, and several pages of black-and-white. This not only makes the short run books look better, but is also drives down the cost of printing a book entirely in color, and makes the book look more appealing than straight black-and-white pages.

Binding Types

Books have a special requirement that most other printing materials do not need: binding. If the pages are not bound, then it is very likely that the paper will come apart and the pages will not be properly organized. To avoid this issue, and to ensure the appearance of quality, short run books can be bound with several different binding types. Each one offers the reader a different experience: some are better for holding pages together, while others make it easier to turn pages.

Minimum Number of Prints
